That’s exactly why I created Design Day.

It’s one focused day together where we make decisions: layout, color, furniture, lighting, art, finishes, styling… whatever your space needs to finally click.

We’ll figure out what’s working, what isn’t, what’s worth keeping, and what needs to go. Then I’ll pull it all together into a clear plan you can actually execute, with a custom guidebook, mood board, shopping list, and next steps. No “I’ll figure it out eventually.” Let’s figure it out together!

This bathroom had the blues before, just not the fun kind. 💙

Once sad, cramped, and dark, this bathroom renovation completely opened up with crisp white shower tile, bold blue beadboard, warm wood, aged brass, and playful pops of pink and orange.

Now it feels bright, happy, and full of personality and honestly, this bathroom just makes me so happy every time I see it.
Proof that even a small bathroom can make a very big statement.

A little behind the scenes because we are SO close over here 👀🌸

Pink ceilings, flower power, a very happy bathroom floor and some seriously good details coming together at our mid-century modern home renovation in Pasadena.

From the custom lighting and bathroom design to the wood details and finishes, this Pasadena project has been all about keeping that mid-century character while having a little fun with it.

Still a little tape, a little dust and a few finishing touches to go… but this is my favorite part of an interior renovation. When all those tiny decisions we’ve been making for months finally start talking to each other.

Almost ready for her close-up. ✨

This bathroom has a little bit of everything I love.

Really good stone. Warm wood. The prettiest soft green tile. Brass. A little pattern underfoot. And sconces that are basically jewelry.

There’s a lot happening in here, but somehow it all just gets along 🤌

I will forever be a believer that you don’t have to pick ONE material and repeat it everywhere. Mix the stone. Mix the texture. Mix the finishes. Give me some personality!

A primary bathroom should feel like part of your home, not a showroom.

Also… those sconces. Come on. 😍

To Cooper, or not to Cooper… is that even a question? 🎭🐾

A little behind the scenes peek into our own home and what happens when the interior designer is also the client.

Custom plaid window treatments, vintage art, a cozy sectional, layered patterns and textures, and Cooper, who remains firmly convinced every photoshoot is actually about him.

I spend my days designing homes for other people, so our own space has become my place to play, collect, rearrange, layer, and live with the things we love.

And yes, the 100 pound dog is allowed on the sofa. Obviously.

What happens behind the curtain… 💅

This Silver Lake basement needed to be a family room, hangout space AND guest room. So naturally, we gave it a little drama. A ceiling-track curtain creates privacy when guests stay over, custom built-ins make the most of the space, and we color drenched the whole damn room in this delicious berry.

Because basement does not have to mean boring.

And those pink chairs? Come on. 🍒

Same corner. Very different game. 🎲 Swipe for the before 👀

We turned this once-forgettable corner into a cozy built-in banquette and breakfast nook with patterned upholstery, playful wallpaper, a statement light, and plenty of room to actually hang out. Morning coffee, long dinners, homework, cocktails, an aggressively competitive game night… this little dining nook is ready for all of it.

Same same, but wayyyyy better.

There’s something so satisfying about looking back at where a renovation started, especially when the messy middle starts to feel like it lasted approximately 700 years.

And then suddenly… it all makes sense.

Dougie fresh, Douglas Eugene Hector, the funky chicken man, my dad. Sadly, left us for a dance party in the sky last week. My strong, brave, ridiculous dad fought cancer like a freakin champion this year, after being a super hero with a double lung transplant 2 years ago.

It has been a crazy year that has rocked all of us, but I’m so proud to call him dad and to watch how bravely he handled something so tragic. He’s gone too soon, and a piece of my heart will always be missing. One thing I know for sure, is that he would want me to keep my chin up, don’t lose hope, listen to some good music, and always make a mean cup of coffee. His second career was in woodworking and incredible carpentry work, so I know I will always hear him making sure all my work is up to the Dougie standards.

I’ll miss you forever. Thanks for making me who I am dad. I love you so much 🧡

This little shower stall just wasn't serving my clients anymore.

So instead of rebuilding what had always been there, we reimagined the space into something that felt a little more intentional.

A quiet place to sit.

To do your makeup.

To style your hair.

To sip your coffee for five minutes before the day begins.

Sometimes the best part of a bathroom remodel isn't the statement tile or the beautiful stone. It's creating small moments that make your everyday routine feel a little softer and a little more special. I think every home should have spaces that invite you to slow down.

This little vanity does exactly that. 🤍

I honestly don't think I'd mind doing the dishes with this view. 🧡

This little corner sink became one of my favorite moments in the entire kitchen remodel.

By wrapping windows around the sink, we brought in so much natural light and turned an everyday task into something that actually feels enjoyable.

Then we layered in some of my favorite materials: white oak cabinetry, handmade green tile, natural stone countertops, unlacquered brass fixtures, and custom roman shades to soften the space.

It's a good reminder that the most used corners of your home deserve just as much attention as the statement moments.

If you're planning a kitchen renovation, don't overlook the sink area. It might end up becoming your favorite spot in the house.

Let’s talk about legs 😎

This island may be small, but it’s mighty.

It needed to be large enough to do its job, provide prep space, storage, and a spot to gather, while still keeping the kitchen feeling open and connected.

A full end-to-end island would have felt too heavy and closed off the space. So instead, we designed an open-ended island with a custom curved spindle leg.
Not only does it keep the room feeling lighter, it helps the island read more like a piece of furniture than a block of cabinetry.

It’s one of those details that most people won’t immediately notice, but it’s exactly the kind of detail that can make a kitchen feel thoughtful, custom, and full of character.

Sometimes good design is all about the legs.

Is there such a thing as too much pattern?

A little wallpaper.

A little patterned upholstery.

A little patterned tile.

A little patterned roman shade.

And a pelican, because why not.

Somehow it all gets along.

The spaces I love most are rarely the ones that play it safe. They're the ones that feel collected, layered, and full of personality.

This breakfast nook is one of my favorites.

Every project has that one request. Swipe to see where we started 😎

For this one, it was: “I really want a kitchen island.”
The catch? The existing kitchen was just 9 feet wide.
What started as a playful back-and-forth quickly became the driving force behind the entire renovation. Instead of trying to squeeze an island into a space that wasn’t designed for one, we stepped back and reimagined the layout altogether, removing two walls and connecting what had been a series of separate rooms.

The result is more than a new kitchen. It’s a completely different way of living in the home. Now the island anchors the space, the kitchen opens seamlessly to the dining area, and natural light reaches every corner. Warm oak cabinetry, handmade green tile, quartzite countertops, and unlacquered brass details bring character and warmth, but the biggest transformation is how the space feels: open, welcoming, and made for gathering.

And yes, the client got her island. 😉

Was May crazy or what? 👋🏼

A month of site visits, sourcing runs, client meetings, a long-awaited photoshoot, birthday celebrations, wedding weekends, a little travel, a lot of design, and plenty of Cooper.

This room had me at the judgy portrait.

A little plaid. A little vintage. A little moody paint. Somehow it all works.

The best spaces aren't built from matching sets. They're built from collected pieces that tell a story and make a house feel like home.

This corner is proof that pattern, texture, antiques, and personality can absolutely live together without feeling chaotic.

Photoshoot prep days = early flower mart runs, too much coffee, and me convincing myself I definitely have room for “just one more stem.” 🌿

There’s honestly nothing better than pulling together all the little layers before an interior design photoshoot. The flowers, the styling pieces, the textures… it’s the part that makes a home feel alive and tells the full story of the space.

Art sourcing will forever be one of my favorite parts of this job. Before interiors, I owned a gallery and spent years painting, collecting, and obsessing over art and honestly, I still do.

I don’t paint as much these days (even though I miss it all the time), but helping clients find the right pieces still gives me that same feeling. From thrift store finds to collector pieces, we genuinely love the hunt.

The right art makes a home feel layered, personal, and alive and sourcing it is something we’ll never get tired of 🤍

a little work, a little play, good meals, long walks, catching up with people i love, and trying to enjoy the slower moments in between. honestly one thing about owning your own business… the brain never fully clocks out, but i wouldn’t have it any other way.

Current Saturday morning status: entering my “do not disturb” era. ♨️

There’s just something about a warm cedar sauna, moody lighting, and a quiet house in the morning that feels wildly luxurious without trying too hard. This little corner of the primary bath might be one of my favorite moments in the project.

Anyway, if anyone needs me… give me 20 minutes.

Day in the life of an interior designer: 4 site visits, quick sourcing stops, material pickups, site confirmations, and approximately 700 hours in the car ✨

Not every design day is glamorous most days are coordinating construction details, checking progress on renovations, making material decisions on the fly, and trying to keep every moving part on schedule. Honestly though, these are the days that move projects forward the most. 🤍

My dad was very unsure about this tile choice at first 😂 Many a debate was had! Now he’s living for it and we’re not even done! Still a few finishing touches lef, plus the most dreamy stone that’s gonna make it a chefs kiss 😘 This project is finally starting to feel real! Stay tuned for more bathroom renovation updates!

There’s something about a shower opening onto a little secret garden that makes the whole space feel like a boutique hotel 🤍

I’ll always love a pattern-on-pattern moment, and this bathroom was such a fun challenge because everything is tonal and neutral, so the mix has to feel layered instead of busy. The herringbone zellige walls, marble mosaic floors, warm stone, and oversized window all play off each other in a really subtle way.

It’s quiet but still has a point of view, which is usually my favorite kind of space.

We FINALLY got to photograph this Studio City primary bathroom renovation 🤍 And I gotta say… I love this bathroom so much.

The original space just wasn’t doing this family any favors. Dark finishes, bulky tile, awkward layouts, and harsh lighting made the bathroom feel dated and purely functional, with none of the warmth or calm they were craving.

Now it feels layered, timeless, and like a true retreat. A total labor of love from start to finish ✨

Featuring custom white oak cabinetry, warm brass details, natural textures, and thoughtful materials throughout.

South Pasadena update:�we’re deep in construction and things are finally taking shape:
• turning a former furnace closet into a custom laundry space�• full bathroom remodel, stripped back to start fresh�• reworking the pool yard for that easy indoor-outdoor california living 🌿

It’s messy, loud, and not cute yet, but this is where the transformation really begins. Wait until you see what this becomes 👀

Pasadena home renovation update ✨

We’re officially in the messy middle of this Pasadena remodel, right in the thick of plumbing and electrical and things are finally moving. Walls are open, systems are going in, and we just added a full kitchen renovation to the scope (because we had to)
